Acer in the first half already pulled ahead global rivals to launcha CULV (Consumer Ultra Low Voltage) notebook PC and anAndroid-based netbook, proving the Taiwanese PC vendor`s strongproduct-development capability.

Acer Taiwan president Scott Lin claimed that his company has beentrying to enable consumers pay less but maximize enjoyment andexcitement in 3D cinema at home.

The president explained that the 3D display technology isincreasingly maturing, with so far 15 3D-movies and more than 1003D animations having been unveiled in 2009. Even Fuji of Japan haslaunched digital cameras for shooting 3D photos, he added.

More 3D movies in 2010 will be screened backed by strong supportfrom Hollywood, creating lucrative business opportunities for3D-related businesses. Acer claimed that 1,000 of the first-batchof 3D notebook PCs have been fully ordered before launch.

Acer tied up with Wistron Corp. of Taiwan to develop the 3Dnotebook PC, with the latter being contracted as the maker.

Acer Inc., the largest Taiwan-based personal computer (PC) brand,recently led global counterparts to launch a notebook PC with 3D(three-dimension) screen, the Acer Aspire 5738DG.
