The LED Lighting for taxiways

Conditions at airports are a tough challenge for lightfixturesand lamps. Systems have to be capable of withstandinggreatlyfluctuating temperatures and vibrations and adhere topreciselydefined colour spectra and light distribution levels atthe sametime.

 

But now an LED module for airport applications with2-8LEDs in yellow, green and red, which meet all theserequirements.They can be used in numerous areas, including varioustarmacoperations such as the taxiway centre line, stop bar andclearancebar.

 

The LED circuit board also enables significant energysavings:two LEDs of 3W each (green) or only 2.5W (red and yellow)replace a40W halogen lamp. Maintenance costs can also be greatlyreduced, asthe life of an LED is at least three times that of ahalogen lamp.The LED modules are easily dimmable and by producingcoloured lightvia LEDs directly this makes the previous use ofcolour filtersunnecessary. The colour spectrum of the LEDs usedmeets all theglobal standards in force. They can therefore beusedinternationally without restrictions.
