Contract electronics productsmanufacturer PlexusCorp. said Wednesday that it has been awarded acontract by the Coca-Cola Co. to helpproduce a new fountain dispenser capable of dispensing more than100 different types of soft drinks.
Neenah-based Plexus (NASDAQ: PLXS) will partner withAtlanta-based Coca-Cola (NYSE: KO) to manufacture a proprietaryfountain dispenser called Coca-Cola Freestyle. Coca-Cola will usePlexus' global supply chain, manufacturing service and expertise inengineering services to bring the product to market.
Plexus first called the program a new "confidential mechatronicswin" in its 2008 fiscal year-end earnings press release.
Dean Foate, Plexus president and CEO, called the contract "asignificant opportunity" for the company.
"We believe this relationship further validates theopportunities that are attainable within the mechatronics spacethrough our sector-based go-to-market strategy," Todd Kelsey,senior vice president-global customer services, said in a pressrelease.
Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
