Foxconn strong growth in August



Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) posted revenues ofNT$143.57 billion (US$4.49 billion) in August, up 10.2%sequentially and also up 43.1% on year, according to a companyfiling with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).

Increasing shipments of PC systems andconsumerelectronics products, including iPhones, PS3 consoles, andLCD TVs,contributed to the strong on-year revenues growth,according tomarket sources.

For the first eight months of this year,revenuestotaled NT$889.24 billion, up 25.7% from a year earlier,the filingshowed.

In other news, Foxconn Precision Components,anaffiliate of the Foxconn Group, saw its revenues grow 21.2% onyearto NT$14.13 billion in August, the highest level so far thisyear,the company said. During the January-August period,FoxconnPrecision Components revenues amounted to NT$96.37 billion,anincrease of 20.7% from the same period of 2007.
