Electronics sector shows signs of life

After months of seeing orders dwindle&nbs******bsp;even cancelled, local electronics manufacturing firms have noticed signs of 
a pick-up in business.

Demand from across the region as well as China and India is igniting production at some companies.

Dr Moh Chong Tau, president and chief executive of manufacturer Makino Asia, said orders were up as much as 30 per 
cent in the past three months compared with the end of last year.

'Lots of firms held back capital expenditure and ran down inventories instead of building more due to 
uncertainty in Europe last year,' he said.
