Global semiconductor sales in April were $23.6 billion,increasing 50.4% over the same period last year when sales were$15.7 billion, according to the report of the U.S. SemiconductorIndustry Association on Tuesday.
The San Jose-based SIA said the first 4 months 2010 sales were$92.6 billion compared to $ 60.1 billion for 2009 as the period, anincrease of 54.2 percent.
All figures are monthly sales representative 3-month movingaverage.
“Global sales of semiconductors grew at a healthy rate inApril, surpassing the previous monthly record level of November2007,” said SIA President George Scalise.
Scalise attributedgrowth in the global 3G wireless communication and infrastructurefrom the enterprise, demand for the recovery vehicle to take theappropriate investment.
