The electronics manufacturing services provider will buildsolar microinverter systems under a new outsourcingagreement.
Enphase Energy, which makes solar microinverter systems, hasselected electronics manufacturing services provider Flextronics asits manufacturing partner.
Enphase, based in Petaluma, Calif., says it chose Flextronicsbecause of the Singapore-based EMS provider’s expertise in energyand electro-mechanical equipment, solar capital equipment, photovoltaic (PV) module assembly and manufacturing, PV componentassembly, PV concentrators and balance of system (BOS)products.
Enphase’s microinverter systems convert the direct current (DC)output of a single solar module into grid-compliant alternatingcurrent (AC) power. Enphase systems maximize energy harvest, increase system reliability and are easier to design, install andmanage than systems installed with traditional inverters, accordingto the company.
