At the same time, the number ofCDMAsubscribersis likely to top 167 million in 2012, representingafour-foldincrease from the numbers at present.
Companies that will benefit fromtheexpandingCDMAmarketinclude VIA Telecom, Dopod International,InventecAppliances,Compal Communications and FoxconnInternationalHoldings (FIH).Dopod and Inventec recently securedorders forCDMAhandsetsfrom China Telecom, while Compal and FIH arealsoproducing handsetsfor Motorola and Nokia, respectively.
Last year, CDMAhandsetsales reached 10 millionunits.
