Smart Phone Sales Slow

Smart Phone Sales Slow, But RIM Improves Share



While Nokia maintains its lead in global market share ofsmartphones, BlackBerry maker Research in Motion has doubled itsownshare from a year before.

That’s according to numbers released this week by researchfirmGartner, as cited by Reuters,which also found that growth ofsmartphone sales had been cut in half since the first quarter oftheyear. Growth was measured at 15.7 percent worldwide.

The firm found that Nokia leads with 47.5 percent of theglobalmarket, while RIM held 17.4 percent and phones runningWindowsMobile at 12 percent.
